Judge Orders a Web Site Selling Tax-Evasion Advice to Close
Published: August 30, 2007
A Web site that sells materials stating that individuals can legally stop paying taxes has been shut on the order of a federal judge.
Judge Thomas J. McAvoy, a senior judge in the Northern District of New York who issued the order on Aug. 9, wrote that the First Amendment did not protect the two organizations that operate the Web site, or their founder, because the site incited criminal conduct. Judge McAvoy ruled that some people who went to the Web site stopped paying taxes, causing the government harm.
Judge McAvoy also ordered that the names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and Social Security numbers of every person who received materials on how to stop paying taxes be turned over to the government.
This information would make it easy for the Internal Revenue Service to identify people who followed the illegal advice and for the Justice Department to prosecute them for tax crimes.
The civil court order is one of at least 245 permanent injunctions obtained by federal prospectors that prohibit individuals and organizations that deny the legitimacy of the tax laws or who sell tax evasion schemes from marketing their wares.
Robert L. Schulz of Queensbury, N.Y., the founder of both organizations behind the Web site — the We The People Foundation for Constitutional Education and the We The People Congress — posted the court order at the Web site givemeliberty.org, and closed the rest of the site even though he said yesterday that the order did not specify that he do so. He also said he had filed an appeal with the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Read more here.

to be exempt from all U.S. taxes create an offshore corporation, you don't have to report anything
To Jeremy,
Before I retired, it seems to me that my employer reported all my income.
I don't see how an offshore corp would help.
:)

Jeremy:
I congratulate you on your success...really, I do.
In the past, I had two different businesses of my own at different times. One (an online business) failed after about two years; the other failed after about five years. In each case, I worked at them about 60-70 hours per week.
Starting a business is a great adventure. Success is not guaranteed; about 75% of all new businesses fail within a year or two.
Again, congratulations.
In reference to the New York Times Editorial... I have two responses; The first is from one of your own John Swinton and he say’s as follows:
THE TRUTH THAT NO ONE DARES TO ACKNOWLEDGE
by
John Swinton
When asked to offer a toast at the annual dinner of the New York Press Club in 1953, John Swinton, the editor-in-chief of The New York Times, a man revered by his peers as the dean of his profession, rose to the occasion by finding the courage to make the following confession.
"There is no such thing as an independent press in America at this date of the world’s history. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print.
"I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
"The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?
"We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks; they pull the strings, and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are all the property of other men.
"We are intellectual prostitutes."
My second response is to the Government of the United States; Keep it simple Stupid…. SHOW US THE LAW that says we owe taxes on wages! You have yet to do so! And secondly SHOW US THE VIDEO from just one of your many surveillance camera’s covering the Pentagon of a plane flying into it! You can’t no more than you can SHOW US THE LAW.
Hey, I was wondering whether Mr.Johnston had disappeared or something -- glad to see he can still write the 'ruling party line'.
He sort of neglected a couple things in the article -- the most important of which is that if people stopped paying taxes (thus hurting the government, boo-hoo); maybe they didn't owe taxes to begin with? It's funny how you stop being ignorant when you learn new things and then can change your behavior.
The second thing is, how many merchants collect SSN's on people? None that I've encountered, so how is Bob going to provide something he doesn't have? I just pray their lawlessness comes to an end soon. -cmw
Scott,
I'm not where I want to be yet financially. I've gone through the illusion of internet marketing, buying this and that ebook or software.
Funny, this is how the US government keeps us in an illusion with propaganda, and directing intellectual thought.
The internet gurus prey on your desire to make money, and lead you to believe you need this information or that software. They also use fear marketing and controversy marketing.
I now see things clearly after my sites crashed a little.
