Ed,

We want to thank you for self-detaining yourself at your house, as you normally would be while awaiting sentencing anyhow. This is saving us some time and dough having to monitor you.

BTW, your wife in open court told the judge that she wouldn't be coming home until you weren't there, and that she would be staying at her son's instead. Looks like your statement that your relationship is "over" is one of the few things that you have right.

~ Federal Marshal Service

PS, we'll see you the morning of your sentencing or maybe a few days before. Please keep your minimum personal effects packed and ready.

Have you considered the fact that the Federal Government must build a case against you by compelling you to testify against yourself? Under your Fifth Amendment rights, this is something they can not do.

Sorry, but Ed has already been CONVICTED and is now a CONVICTED FELON. He had a chance to testify, but chose not to. The only thing he is doing now is:

(1) Savings the U.S. Marshal Service the time and trouble of home detention;

(2) Waiving his rights to any appeal by not appearing and filing his appellate notices in a timely fashion; and

(3) Building up a very negative pre-sentencing investigation report that will probably get him a term so long that he will die in prison.

Based on his stupidity so far, he might as well put a gun to his head and blow his brains out, because his own stupidity has caused him to lose everything, i.e., his wife, his home, etc., all for a few tax dollars.

BTW, the Feds will not come in with heavy weaponry for Ed. Whatever happens to him, they don't want to damage his house as that will make it harder to sell at the foreclosure hearing and they want the highest dollar possible. It looks pretty -- I'm thinking of bidding on it as a vacation home. We can run up the Quatloos pirate flag so that it can be seen from the hilltop for miles away as a message to others. ;)
