Bartering with or for rounds of silver, which do NOT purport to be "official" U.S. "money", is completely legal.
About ten years ago, the U.S. Mint stated that Liberty Dollars were in fact legal. But then they gained popularity amongst both buyers AND merchants, and so not long ago the Mint issued a notice stating that LDs were illegal. The LD founder sued.
Now comes the ILLEGAL raid.
Outrageous. But what else can you expect from an out-of-control Fed Govt.?
