Colin Powell Leaks Real Reason For SSN

I was watching Fox News Sunday this morning, 06/17/01, being hosted in the first segment by Tony Snow. The lead off guest was Colin Powell, the US Secretary of State. Mr. Powell gave an excellent recitation relevant to foreign affair matters.
Mr. Powell during the entire interview was very confident, and spoke without hesitation throughout the entire interview excluding for a one second period, after one specific statement made by him as he was talking about the Russian peoples. When he realized the consequences of making this disclosure indirectly to the American public, he froze for a second, his eyes rolled back as he realized what he had said, and then he continued without further pause for the rest of the interview. It will be a lot easier to monitor, track down, and capture ANY citizen once the REAL ID Act takes effect in May, 2008. [Perhaps sooner, if the Republi-crat Congress passes an immigration bill with REAL ID provisions.]

It seems that Mr. Burien inferred a meaning into what Powell said. Of course this doesn't mean that the records were not "adjusted" or that Mr. Burien's inference was not what Powell was implying. The fact, as available, is that the Burien supplied quote is inaccurate compared to the transcript. Of course the available "fact" will do nothing to stop the continued Internet "patriot mythology" on this.

and get the actual quote. Either this guy misremembered or the DoS's office is covering it up. That would be newsworth in itself.
Or have the official DVD's been re-shot to complete the cover-up? If so, why has nobody in the whole world posted a videotape of the original airing?
My thought is: who cares? Nothing can be done about it; the SS # is here to stay.
REAL ID is a much more dangerous threat than the SS #.
By the way, here's something no one ever told me at the beginning of my working days---no one is required by law to obtain a Social Security number. The SS system is entirely voluntary. People expect you to be in it, but it's not required by law.
