I have an idea.

Why don't you guys make..I dunno, trip wires attached to winchimes hidden in the trees?

I mean..it'd startle possible attackers, or people approaching with the intention to use scare tactics. If there's enough of the windchimes about, it'd provide means to warn you before they get there..and next time, they'd learn not to approach from the woods, and you guys could know where to expect them from.

Plus..if you pick chimes with musical sounds..instead of like wooden or clacking ones, they can't even claim that they were a threat or anything.

*smiles* thwarted by wind chimes ^_^

I wish I could come up there and support you guys, even if it'd be only for awhile. Being young and poor has it's disadvantages sometimes, I guess.

You guys are awesome! Stay safe!

wow, possibly feds on the property...i suggest putting razor wire traps in the ferns where they were.
as for coming to help, I'm working on that, but for now the best weapons i have are a slingshot and medieval style battle axe and flail.
I also suggest sprinkling the ground with something ninjas are rumored to use, they are little pointed pieces of metal, often painted black, that stick up and if stepped on, assuming they aren't wearing fortified shoes, cause injury. in a pinch roof nails stuck through pieces of roofing tile will penetrate some shoes. scatter those about if you can; if not, i have a whole heap of that. (and more since my mother's house recently went up in flames.)
I'm young, poor, and have a baby so I'm working on how to get there, I'm thinking of taking a train.
my husband would have to stay here to work.
