PHOENIX - The Mohave County Minutemen spent Monday in Phoenix, protesting outside Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl's office.

The Phoenix Republican has been instrumental in forging an agreement with Democrats like Sen. Edward Kennedy on new immigration legislation, which detractors consider a pro-amnesty bill for illegal immigrants.

The Senate decided Monday to hold off on voting for the plan until next month.

The county Minutemen - inspired by but not associated with the national Minutemen organization - got up at 1 a.m. Monday to drive to Phoenix for a protest which started at 5 a.m., according to organization co-founder Luca Zanna.
