Homeland Security offers details on Real ID

Hundreds of millions of Americans will have until 2013 to be outfitted with new digital ID cards, the Bush administration said on Thursday in a long-awaited announcement that reveals details of how the new identification plan will work.

As of this moment, my sentencing hearing is still scheduled for 9:30 a.m. this Wednesday, March 7. However, I have made a last minute decision that will change that. I have retained another lawyer to file a motion to dismiss which challenges personal jurisdiction.

Irwin says in his appeal that he hasn't had access to them, so I doubt anyone else has either.

From experience, I can tell you that the transcripts will likely have been edited by the judge before being typed up. I spent $1,200 getting a transcript, and I was appalled at how much had simply disappeared and how much had been altered or revised.

Anyone going into federal court on any tax charge would be well advissed to hire his own court recorder. Even then, you'll be dealing with someone likely to be more loyal to the court than to you. It's a crapshoot either way.

According to Angela, Schiff's attorney has had the transcripts since early November 2006.
