Dan Rather on Larry King Live

Dan Rather said last Thursday that the undue influence of the government and large corporations over newsrooms spurred his decision to file a $70 million lawsuit against CBS and its former parent company.

"Somebody, sometime has got to take a stand and say democracy cannot survive, much less thrive with the level of big corporate and big government interference and intimidation in news," he said on CNN's "Larry King Live."

I originally posted this comment under the Saturday September 22 article on Dan Rather. Watching this Larry King video the article was based on confirms my thought that Mr. Rather only seems concerned because he personally was affected with the loss of his overpaid job. I just wish that he had shown the same concern for our liberty and our country as the talking head for CBS news during his career.

How disingenuous. Dan Rather after an entire career and so long after being fired only now speaks out. Thank you Dan for your sincere efforts in reporting only unbiased facts to the American public your entire career. The American people are certainly indebted to mainstream media, including you and CBS, for keeping them informed and knowledgeable so liberty can flourish. What a crock. Dan Rather is part of the problem. His only interest is financial. He is only looking for a nice payday like Don Imus just had at CBS’s expense. Dan Rather is nothing more than a copycat disgruntled former employee. Now do you want to know how I really feel?

I agree, Rather is a piece of shit regardless of what he is doing now.
