    that was illegal what those police did. They had no probable cause to stop Dave. I'm getting sick and tired of "papers please" everywhere you go.

    This is a perfect example of asserting one's rights:
    Be polite.
    Be calm.
    Be firm.
    Do not believe that you have to do everything asked of you.
    Do not be intimidated.
    Never physically resist, even if arrested.
