Ed and Elaine Brown, taking a page from Lt. Watada's script, are hereby declaring the following:
"The IRS operates unlawfully within the 50 union States. It is our obligation and our duty to refuse to participate in this fraud against the American people. They, the government, have continuously failed to show us the law that requires the average American to file and pay a tax on our labor - ie. they are in breach of contract under sworn oath. And these ficticious laws that compell us, by force and fraud, to take part in illegal activities is both unlawful and unconscionable." - Ed & Elaine Brown

The Watada trial was mistried because the judge didn't like some of the party's pretrial agreements. By contrast, Ed and Elaine were LAWFULLY convicted by 12 jurors after a LAWFUL and ERROR-FREE trial. Hell, Ed and Elaine didn't even have a case to present and so didn't show up.
No mistrial in Ed's and Elaine's case, no matter what they "declare".
Laws restrict government with a lower case g.
A prime example of why democracy only works with an informed citizenry.
Unlike the tax protestor crowd, few of whom are anything like well educated and are informed only on kook conspiracy theories.
