Preventative Violence

Larken Rose is at his best here. Our world has changed. Wake up freedom lovers because you can't talk a fascist into freedom. You can only show him what the natural consequences will be unless he stops. You can only do that if you have the way (ability to hurt, distress, defend) and the will (reasoned rational moral philosophical belief) that the fascist believes that you are willing to use. Bluffing doesn't work long. The only moral issue question here is; What about the non-involved innocent bystanders? Rational reasoned retributive justice believers only judge those who have caused injury. Nemo me impune lacessitt!

Can Violence Solve Violence?

Rarely do I hear anything from Stefan Molyneux that I can substantively disagree with, so allow me to jump on this rare opportunity to take issue with something he said. (I'm hoping this rant finds its way to him, and I'm betting one of you forwarding it to him will work better and faster than me trying to find his e- mail address in my infinite, messy pile of stuff.) In a recent podcast, where he gave his thoughts on the Joe Stack incident, Stefan asserted that violence cannot be solved with violence. Partly true, partly false. Here is the link for that clip:

I think Stefan would agree that the initiation of violence is a symptom of something not being right in the head of the aggressor. And it is absolutely true that the root CAUSE of the aggression cannot be fixed via more violence. However, the EFFECT (or symptom) of that problem CAN be. As a very simple example, if someone breaks into my house at night, my 12-gauge is not going to repair whatever mental damage led the guy to want to do such a thing. However, it has a good chance of stopping the EFFECT of his psychosis. In such an instance, my goal would not be to "fix" what is wrong with the invader, but to prevent the potential SYMPTOMS of his psychological problems.

Likewise, the irrational belief in the myth of "authority" is the direct cause of the vast majority of theft, assault and murder in the world. The people at the IRS, for example, routinely commit harassment, terrorism, extortion and robbery, because they truly believe that when something evil is "legalized," it ceases to be evil. They (and their victims) have been indoctrinated to believe that theft is bad, UNLESS "authority" does it, in which case theft ("tax collection" / "law enforcement") is GOOD, and RESISTING it is bad.

So the root cause of the problem is their indoctrination into the cult of authoritarianism, and all the propaganda and rhetoric they were fed about "law," "taxation," "government," and all the other bunk which is designed to paint theft as a GOOD thing when the slave-masters do it, and only bad when us peasants do it. And the SOLUTION to that problem is, quite literally, "deprogramming" people out of the most dangerous superstition: the belief in "authority" (the notion that some people have the right to rule others). So no, cursing at, punching, shooting, or blowing up IRS employees cannot fix that underlying problem.

HOWEVER--and this is a big however--while delusions remain, violence can sometimes deter the EFFECTS of those delusions. No matter how much an IRS employee has bought into the state propaganda, if he thinks he might die if he keeps on robbing people ("collecting taxes," as he would call it), he might choose a new career. The underlying problem would remain, but the symptom, in that case, would disappear, as would some of the potential resulting damage.

In general, it's a bad idea to focus on treating the SYMPTOMS of a problem, instead of treating the problem itself. This is true in medicine, economics, philosophy, and just about everything else. However, if the symptom of ONE person's problem is the SUFFERING of another, then treating the symptom is a worthwhile goal, for the sake of the innocent victim.

Suppose someone came up with a way to convince all 100,000 or so employees of the IRS that if they showed up for work the next day-- or ever again--they would all die horrible deaths. And suppose they could be made to believe that without any of them actually being harmed. Frankly, I would be thrilled. Though it would do nothing to address the underlying problem--that the state's hired thieves believe "legal theft" to be morally righteous--it would, on a practical level, deter them from victimizing others as a result of their delusions.

So the question is, when do we focus our efforts on trying to enlighten the deluded, and when do we do whatever it takes to stop the deluded from hurting people? My answer is, we should continually focus on both. Those of us who know that we own ourselves have the absolute right to do whatever it takes to stop others from initiating violence against us, whether they fully understand what they're doing or not. At the same time, it sure would be nice if we could make it so they didn't WANT to initiate violence against us. But if fear of harm is all that will keep thieves from stealing, it's better than letting them rob people.

This brings to mind a related topic--which I'll rant about more in some later message--having to do with condemning the state's mercenaries ("police"), calling them names ("fascists"), insulting them ("Nazi swine"), etc. Believe it or not, I don't just do that to be nasty. I believe it serves a useful, worthwhile purpose to identify evil as evil, and I believe it can be very destructive NOT to do so. I know some people prefer to always be polite and civil, in an effort to "win over" the statists to the idea of self- ownership, but I think in a way that is often inappropriate. The thugs with badges get paid to harass, terrorize, assault, extort, control, and otherwise oppress people who haven't hurt anyone. I don't believe sane people should talk as if it's up for polite discussion whether that's okay or not.

In the ever-popular example of the Nazis, which of the following would have been more appropriate or more effective?: 1) lots of Germans politely trying to point out the philosophical inconsistencies in Hitler's agenda, or 2) lots of Germans constantly and viciously condemning the Nazis in the most hostile, insulting, caustic terms imaginable, as soon as that party came into being? If people can be shamed or brow-beaten into not acting like thugs, I'm all for it. Of course, it would be a lot better if they could instead be ENLIGHTENED into choosing the philosophy of self-ownership. And in the long run, that is absolutely what our goal should be. But history has shown all too well, all too often, that in the short term, it's a lot easier to shoot an aggressor than it is to reform him.

I spent years trying to make various IRS employees (and other state mercenaries) consider the possibility that maybe "doing their job" is immoral. Joe Stack spent a day showing them that "doing their job" might be hazardous to their health. Which of us did the IRS folk learn anything from? Sorry to say, I don't think it was me.

It is always open to interpretation by the ruling "revelators;" prophets, lawyers, judges of the day. There are NO absolutes, NO immutability, NO divine revelation! The only absolute in the law is the ruling revelator's willingness to use lethal coercion to enforce their interpretation of TheoLawlogy.

Quit going to the "matrix" for justice. The truism is oft repeated ad nauseum that, "No man is above the law." Humbuggery, Balderdash and Drool!! Man has ALWAYS placed himself above the law because it is up to man to interpret "the law." PoLice, prosecutors, lawyers and judges place themselves above the law everyday by their interpretations of what the "law" means and how to enforce it. Grammar, semantics, hermeneutics means nothing to those whose pattern and practice is deception and brigandism.

The Supreme Court of the United States denied the Hirmers' Petition for writ of 
certiorari. 
 
Despite having uncontroverted evidence that several states intentionally amended 
the language of the 16th Amendment as proposed by Congress, conduct the 
government admits violates Art. V of the Constitution, district court judges in 
Pensacola, Florida and Chicago, Illinois, the entire panel of the 7th Circuit 
court of appeals, three judges in the 11th Circuit court of appeals, and at 
least five judges of the Supreme Court (I don't know if any of the judges voted 
to grant cert) have each violated their oaths to support and defend the 
constitution. 
 
The denial of the petition for writ of cert in the Benson case has ended that 
case. The criminal trial of the Hirmers is scheduled to commence on March 1st. I 
am currently preparing for trial. The trial is expected to last between three 
and six months. 
 
So what is next now that we know for a certainty that the federal courts are 
closed to protecting the Constitution, and the people, from fraud of the 
Executive branch of government in the collection of the federal income tax, and 
are closed to protecting the First and Fifth amendment rights of those who would 
expose that fraud? 
 
I believe it is now incumbent upon the people to press Congress to remove the 
culprit judges from office for bad behavior through the impeachment process. The 
second is that the people need to press Congress to declare the 16th Amendment 
not ratified. Third, is that the people need to take action to widely publicize 
the conduct of the federal judiciary and the attorneys working for the goverment 
in order to bring about the first and second actions. 
 
Hopefully, there are those among you with the fortitude to assume positions of 
leadership to bring about the above suggestions.

In recent years Americans have become more and more alarmed at the lack of adherence to the U.S. Constitution exercised by Congress and other elected representatives. The list of violations has grown large indeed.

Some have tried to fight the violations through the election process, attempting to remove those representatives who have perpetrated them. Others have tried to fight infringing legislation as it is introduced. Still others have fought in the courts, attempting to defend liberties in front of judges who have sworn to uphold the Constitution.

To date, little has worked as many elected representatives and court rooms openly defy the Constitution, calling it antiquated. Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court announce that they now look to international law for precedence and guidance, rather than the Constitution. Government at all levels is growing ever further from the reach of the people. In such a growing desperate situation is it possible to restore the Republic to the vision of the Founding Fathers?

Glenn Beck's Common Sense: The Case Against an Out-of-Control Government, Inspired by Thomas Paine by Glenn Beck

A Review

This is a well documented booklet. However, it is difficult to substantiate his seeming anecdotal claims with his sizable “Sources” list as he does not use any footnotes or chapter designations. To his credit his listings contain substantive references including an informal bibliography, web links and periodical sources.

His writing style is much like his spoken style. He incites and provokes, needles and cajoles the reader with emotionally laden terminology and appeals to an emotional response; while claiming it to be a reasoned rational reaction. It is actually a short “book” as the line leading (the vertical spacing between sentences) is for a larger font size than the one used, putting fewer words on each page and therefore using more pages. Also, one third of the book is a reprint of Thomas Paine's original pamphlet Common Sense. Thus giving it a deceptively larger appearance.

In its essence it is just another compendium of what is wrong with America from his newly nonpartisan position. Many other compendiums have been circulating from more astute authors for sometime now. (Lysander Spooner, Albert Jay Nock, Herbert Spencer, Ayn Rand, Ludwig von Mises, Leonard Read, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Carl Watner, James Bovard, , Dr. Edwin Vieira Jr., Dr. Robert Altemeyer, Dr. Ron Paul, to just name a few from a much larger list spanning two hundred years.) However, due to Mr. Beck's public podium his message may reach and strike a responsive chord with more of America's dumbed down masses than a more erudite treatise.

The glaring problem with this “book” is on the first page. He writes, “In 1776, Thomas Paine's words sparked a revolution. Today, a new revolution of thought begins right now, with you.... You might find yourself wondering what can be done to change our nation's course. I lay out several options, but I want to be clear that none of them include violence. Thomas Paine and his fellow revolutionaries shed their blood so that future generations would have access to weapons immeasurably stronger than muskets or bayonets: the weapons of democracy...”

Through out his book he uses the language of revolution. However, he wants to pacify it and turn it into a fist-shaking, foot-stomping plebiscite tantrum. Herein is the fault. You cannot compare a potentially future American revolution to the former American War for Independence without the possible use of violence. Several thoughts on this follow.

First, to ascribe the appellation “revolution” to the American War for Independence is to take the “British” point of view of the legitimacy of British rule rather than the legitimacy of independence. Second, I am sure by their subsequent writings that "Thomas Paine and his fellow revolutionaries" did not consider their blood shedding to be some kind of secular propitiation or substitutionary atonement for any future use of physical force to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness from an infringing government. Furthermore, there is always violence used by one or all factions in a regime change. Third, the use of “democracy” as a weapon implies the use of force, in reality or by threat, by the majority against the minority. The only difference is that the minority, by “democracy,” agreed to their suppression in perpetuity via an implied social contract thus legitimizing the use of force against them and renaming it “police action” or “anti-terrorism.”

On page 106 he states, “...do the things you feel...”

Really Mr. Beck? Just demonstrate populist discord and the “rulers” will change their tune?

On page 107 he quotes Mr. Paine's conclusion, “...until an independence is declared, the Continent will feel itself like a man who continues putting off some unpleasant business from day to day, yet knows that it must be done, hates to set about it, wishes it over, and is continually haunted with the thoughts of its necessity.”

It seems to me that the founders heeded Mr. Paine's warning and made such a declaration resulting in the conflagration wherein most of the signers were held to their pledge of “our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” Furthermore, he goes on to claim that his words like Paine's “find their roots” in Common Sense.

Really Mr. Beck? If this is true and he wanted to follow and imitate the example of the founding fathers than why has he not joined the We the People Congress

http://wethepeoplecongress.org for the Continental Congress to be held in Illinois this year? They have done and are doing an almost exact 21st century imitation of the actual 18th century example laid out by the founding fathers.

If we take Mr. Beck at his word and accept his implications as literal then he is saying the American people should treat the Federal Government as old England was treated by the 18th century Continental Congresses. Mr. Paine's work sparked a Declaration of Independence which sparked a violent war for control over land, resources and people. You cannot mince, parse or mollify the words of revolution by comparing a philosophical, or as he wrote, “a new revolution of thought,” to a violent one.

Therefore, in conclusion let us address this “elephonkey” or “donkyphant” in the room. Is America ready for a “revolution"? Have the lines of philosophical differences been so well articulated that people can make an informed decision whether to chose between an uncertain future of an insurgent guerrilla war for independence against the FedGov or for the limitless limitation of freedom and “on-growing” burden of the Federal corporatist police-state leviathan?

Does his target audience (based upon his assertive description in the Introduction it appears to be middle class married men with children, struggling to make ends meet,) actually have the backbone and where-with-all to declare and defend an actual new declaration of independence? Does he? Or, as this writer suspects, is this just another opportunistic endeavor to stir up impotent resistance and controversy to sell books and garner viewers?

If you really want to know what is going on apart from the propagandist pablum spewed by the corporatist organs of the state then check out the sources below. Buckle up, bolt your socks to your shoes and get ready for Matrix like red pill revelations.

If you want the real philosophy of Liberty then look up the authors mentioned in paragraph three rather than his list on pages 110 and 111.

Furthermore, since he is wildly popular with the Repubicrats, copy this review and include it with copies of his book before you hand them out to friend and family, thereby giving them the means to a meal along with his appetizer.

Glen Beck started a “9.12 Project” referenced on page 109. He lists 9 Principles and 12 Values that one should share with others. See, http://www.the912project.com/the-912-2/mission-statement/.

On his web site he also says what the purpose is; “This is a non-political movement. The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.”

Why 9.12? Why recreate a the wheel or as in this case replace the existing wheel with a downsized spare? Why not emphasize and encourage what the founders already established? Or would that be too revolutionary?

In 1776, fifty-six men signed the Declaration of Independence declaring that, “We hold these truths to be self-evident…”

What truths were “these truths”?

The whole of the Declaration of Independence and the instituted governments of the United States of America rest upon only 5 Truths. The signers of the Declaration of Independence believed that those who supported these 5 Truths were good people and supporters of freedom.

However, those who opposed the 5 Truths were against liberty as agents of dictators, tyrants and despots. Which one are you? Do you believe in the 5 Truths?

Truth 1. All people are created equal.

Truth 2. All people created equal are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. (No commentary was given about the nature of, or, who this “Creator” was believed to be. However, the previous paragraph declares that people have “separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitles them.” Therefore, it can be inferred based on the common beliefs of the day that the implication was from a general “Christianized” worldview with an Enlightenment influence.)

Truth 3. Only by the consent of the created equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights, governments are formed to secure those endowed certain unalienable rights and derive their powers only from the consent of the equal people endowed with certain unalienable rights.

Truth 4. When any form of government becomes destructive of those endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people, it is the “Right of the People” created equal and endowed with certain unalienable rights to replace that government with one that will secure those, endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people.

Truth 5. When it becomes evident that a form of government has a design to reduce the equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such a government.

Make no mistake in thinking that this is a light matter. We as a nation are approaching a fork in the road together.

There are those among us who believe that “government” is the source of rights and liberty. They are the modern day Tories, the royalists, and believers in the divine rights of kings. Only today their “king” is the Government.

We have almost come full circle in our experiment in liberty from where we started.

First Is Our Government Legitimate? by Laurence M. Vance. Here is a teaser and I dare you to follow the link and read the rest of it.

Buried in section 111 of Title I, "Miscellaneous Provisions and Offsets," of Division J, "Other Matters," in H.R. 4818, "Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2005," which became Public Law 108-447 on December 8, 2004, is the congressional decree that redesignates September 17th as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day instead of what was just Citizenship Day.

This law requires the head of each federal agency or department to provide:

each new employee of the agency or department with educational and training materials concerning the U.S. Constitution as part of the orientation materials provided the new employee; and
educational and training materials concerning the U.S. Constitution to each of its employees on September 17 of each year.

It also stipulates that "each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year to hold an educational program on the U.S. Constitution on September 17 of such year for its students."

September 17th was so designated because it is the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. In fact, this year is somewhat special because it is the 220th anniversary of that event. But what if, instead of being a cause for celebration, the adoption of the Constitution was "the most successful fraud in American history"?

The question, then, is a simple one: Is our government legitimate? I am not asking whether the U.S. government in its current state is legitimate based on its adherence to the Constitution. That it is not legitimate in that respect is obvious since the current government is about as far removed from the Constitution as it could ever be and still claim to be the government of a constitutional republic.

The Constitution was written by the delegates from twelve states to the Philadelphia Convention, which met from May 25 to September 17, 1787. It was debated and refined by some of the greatest political minds of the day. Some of the delegates had been members of Congress, some had written state constitutions, some had been state governors, and a few had even signed the Declaration of Independence or the Articles of Confederation. Oh for the love of Pete! Now, self defense on your own property... hell in your own home for that matter, is not allowed if the aggressors are from mother government. Didn't the British do the same thing to Americans a couple of hundred of years ago when America was a British colony? Is New Hampshire a United States colony or sovereign state?

It's neither one; it is a British Colony. Now you are getting the picture of what happens when one challenges the 'system' from the Pope's property in which the alleged 'homeowner' holds a mere equitable interest. There is no such thing as ownership of private property in America. So, we may just as well rent and let others remain under that disability. You see, protecting oneself, or what one thought was his property, does not fly in the courts as the Browns discovered. The 'system' will just auction off the property to pay the alleged back taxes and fines. That is the way the 'system' works. Forget rights, that only happens in movies and fairy tales. If anyone is going to mount such a challenge as the Browns did, they had better be judgment proof and prepared to spend a long time in federal custody. Sad to say, but that is the reality of the situation.

Larken Rose has in just 363 pages written what is sure to become an instant classic in the pantheon of American dystopian alternative future fiction genre.

Larken echoes thematic paradigms and has blended some familiar plot characteristics of Jack London's The Iron Heel, arguably the first 20th century dystopian novel, Taylor Caldwell's classic The Devil's Advocate, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and the recent Hope by L. Neil Smith and Aaron Zelman.

Some of the familiar themes are the history of an America that has or will develop differently. A country where citizens gave up their rights and freedom slowly until an authoritarian/socialist/fascist/theocratic/state developed. Freedom of thought, religion, speech, personal defense and republicanism are replaced by militia, secret police, and a few men's reign of terror. Usually they are self-serving oligarchic tyrannies where induced State and “law” worship abound. Imagine a world in which the United States and or remaining parts thereof, have been reduced to a totalitarian state; a world in which your neighbors may be spies; a world in which what passes for modern political correctness has run amok.

Most of these books and short stories in this genre have abundant soliloquies of ideological import decrying the history and failures of the past and present generations to abate the tide of tyranny. This book is no exception to that.

However, Larken Rose in the dialogues he has written explores the root causes of the problems that exist and suggests a solution that could exist in the real world apart from the plot twists in the novel. This is why this book is important. This is why this book and the next one need to be read by as many as can be induced to read them.

Samuel Adams said, “It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority, who keep on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

This is what The Iron web does. Ideas power men. Men power cultures. Cultures power civilizations. Civilizations power history. Ideas are the fuel of man's mind. The Iron Web is an idea of liberty.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.”

Larken Rose questions the legitimacy of the god of law. He strikes right at the root of the problem of man's worship and servility to man's created idol of paper and ink. Why law? What is law? Whose law?

In The Iron Web on pages 151-154 (1st edition) one of the main characters presents a series of questions in the form of a brilliant Socratic syllogism. It is one that needs to be memorized and applied in today's world with family, friends and acquaintances. When one works through the reason and logic of this syllogism to the naturally sound and true conclusion, one will understand the nature of the mental, emotional and social “burqa” that has encumbered those “yearning to breathe free” for years.

The Iron Web is an idea whose time has come. Many of the novels and short stories in this genre have made similar ideas as parts of the story. Some people are preparing to or are already “gulching” as in Atlas Shrugged. Some are planning to be “urban survivalists.” Rather than a how-to book of future survivalism Larken Rose gives us an entertaining and engrossing story line that provides a nascent philosophy for the next step for freedom and liberty.

What the “freedom movement” needs today is a coagulating freedom philosophy rather than attempts to create hierarchal umbrella organizations to shadow government. We need a freedom meme, “brushfires of freedom,” or a liberty virus. We need an Iron Web to counter the creeping crud of authoritarian fascist socialist statism.

America’s future requires a second revolution—but not before Americans are ready to do it right and do it completely. Our forbearers told us the “what”: “The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on Earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule”; and “Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: First a right to life, secondly to liberty, and thirdly to property; together with the right to defend them in the best manner they can." - Samuel Adams.

Ayn Rand has given us the “why”: "Anyone who fights for the future lives in it today…man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute."

As for the “how”: The Iron Web provides the philosophical basis in an engaging, easily readable pleasure for the eyes, heart and mind.

Gentlemen,

I am an 11B currently assigned at Fort Campbell. I live off post, with my firearms(which I don't bring on post for any reason). A very frightening thing happened at work yesterday. I was ordered to fill out a list containing my firearm information. This included make, model, caliber, and serial number of all firearms I currently posses. In addition, I was also required to list registration information, location of all weapons individually, and information regarding any CCW permits I posses. If you are like me, then the people you work with know you have firearms. So I had to list at least some. I tried to talk to my 1sg (who is normally aproachable through proper channels) to find out what this is for, and I was basically told, "I don't give a !&@%, just put your info on the form." I don't know how high this goes, but I am hearing that this is going on in other units at Fort Campbell as well. It just seems a little coincidental to me that within 90 days: the most anti-firearm President in history is inaugurated, some of the nastiest anti-firearm laws are put on the table in Washington, and then the Army comes around wanting what amounts to a registration on all firearms, even if they are off post, and doesn't provide any reason or purpose as to why. I fear something really nasty is blowing in the wind here. I have been in almost 8 years, and never have any of my units asked for this information. If any of you out there have any info as to what all this crap is about please chime in. Otherwise consider yourself warned. I have already posted this on every other firearm forum I am a member of to get the word out.

We are building our own society. We will supplement traditional tools with networking, cryptography, sound money, digital currency and anonymous messaging.

Winnipeg City Councilor Harvey Smith (hsmith(at)winnipeg(dot)ca has stated quite correctly that he is the only city councilor to stand up to the Winnipeg Police- and he had challenged them on our behalf-so what did they do- city council passed legislation this year making it illegal for him to help us by making it illegal for a city councilor to assist those outside of their riding- and councilor Smith's assistant stated that our case was a primary focus instumental towards that bilaw being passed!

Leon in Toronto has been extremely helpful in posting links on his company website for his Toronto game store, having first seen account of ordeal on the net almost 1 year prior and having contacted me by email thereafter. His level of awareness and

conscientiousness concerning issues of injustice and covert state tyranny have provided a common ground for me to vent frustrations and emotion over the indifference of the masses to our ordeal despite the fact that it is representative of mass tyranny culminating slowly upon those same masses.

Readers often ask why I am so "down" on poLice. Here is just a sample of "WHY" from Radly Balko's blog The Agitator. Also, this excellent research expose Are Cops Constitutional? by Roger Root goes to the heart of the matter.
The basic problem is that cops are unaccountable financially and criminally by a system that covers up their abuses and a culture that won't hold them personally accountable by honor or blood. It will get worse until they are slapped down by an intolerant judiciary (lol) or people willing to hold abusive poLice personally responsible for their actions by vigilante justice.

Macon, Georgia man says police assaulted and choked his son after getting the wrong house on a “knock and talk” raid.

The Belleville, Illinois police officer accused of beating a man for wearing a t-shirt printed with the word “police” I posted about last week has been sued for civil rights violations four times since 1999. Two were while he was with the Belleville police department, and both resulted in settlements.

Police in D.C. caught on tape stealing from the city’s Toys for Tots program.

A police officer in Missouri is under arrest for stealing the laptop of a woman he pulled over. Problem is, the woman saw him steal it, and filed a complaint back in 2007. They ignored her. It wasn’t until the apparently not-so-bright officer brought the laptop back to the sheriff’s department to have software installed that the laptop was confirmed stolen, and the cop was arrested.

Puppycide in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Again, this comes down to training. These particular officers should have been taught (a) the difference between a charging dog and one bounding out to meet another dog, (b) how to deal with even a charging dog in a way that falls short of killing it, and (c) that it was a Great Dane, which generally a very gentle breed. What’s troubling in these cases is that the first reaction is always to shoot.

Cop drives 100 in a 45 in response to a shoplifting call. Ends up hitting and killing another cop. Now, other officers are coming to his defense, asking the DA not to press charges. Think they’d have the same reaction if a non-cop had caused the accident?

Police in New Orleans shoot man 12 times in the back. The shooting could well have been justified, but there are already some troubling discrepancies in the officers’ account of the incident.

Police in Bellaire, Texas shoot a 23-year-old man after mistaking him for a car thief.

Las Vegas cop arrested for offering to drop speeding tickets in exchange for sexual favors.

Teen (also the son of a cop) pulled over for expired inspection sticker. Cop asks to search the car. Teen says no. Drug dog then mysteriously “alerts.” Cop allows dog to search the car. No drugs. Teen drives away, and is now suing. The really sad part, though, are the comments to the story. Comments here are pretty sad, too.

Report of Oral Arguments

On Tuesday, Oct. 28th, 2008, oral arguments were held in the 7th Cir. Court of Appeals for the appeal of U.S. v. Benson. The District Court issued an injunction, enjoining Bill Benson from selling his “Reliance Defense” package, but denied the government the list of people who purchased the package from Bill. A complete explanation of the case and why it is so important, can be read at http://jeffdickstein.com/ . Bill appealed, and the government filed a cross appeal.

The oral arguments were before Judges Bauer, Evans, and Ripple. Between 25 and 30 Patriots were there to show support for Bill Benson and the First Amendment. The court was announced into session by a man with a heavy Eastern European [Communist] accent, which was very appropriate for a case where the government is banning books and information.

Bill’s attorney, Jeff Dickstein delivered a spectacular and stunning argument. When the case was called, Jeff sprang to the podium and immediately picked up a stack of documents in each hand and said, “these are certified public documents from the National Archive... and this is a government report. The government says Bill Benson can’t sell these!” Initially, Judges Evans and Bauer had smirks on their faces and almost mocked Dickstein, until they made the mistake of challenging him. Bauer sarcastically said, “you have to pay taxes or go to jail”. Bauer stated, “the Supreme Court ruled the 16th Amendment was ratified”. Dickstein cut him off and hollered, “Name the case! What case?” Judge Bauer stuttered, “duh duh duh”. Judge Evans came to Bauer’s rescue by saying, “we will ask the questions here”.

Dickstein brilliantly argued that Bill has the right to disseminate information, especially when it is true. Judges Evans and Bauer attempted to make the case solely into a 16th Amendment case, instead of a First Amendment case. While rolling his eyes, Evans asked Dickstein if he could cite one case saying the 16th Amendment was not ratified, and is he aware that this issue has been before all the courts several times and the courts have ruled against it. Dickstein cried out that “Mr. Benson believes the courts are wrong! And it his right to say the courts are wrong. Mr Benson believes you have committed TREASON!” At this point Evans and Bauer lost their arrogant attitude and the smirks were wiped clean off their faces as Dickstein proceed to rip them a new bunghole.

Dickstein correctly argued that Bill Benson has the right to change the political thinking by showing people the material he has researched and that the government cannot silence any person’s attempt to educate the public simply because the government doesn’t agree.

In a loud commanding tone, Dickstein lifted his arm, pointed to the black bailiff and said, “this man was property because of bad decisions of this court!” Wow! You could have heard a fish fart in that court room at that point. Dickstein repeatedly slammed the judges for their erroneous decisions and refusal to allow the 16th Amendment issue to reach it’s merits. Dickstein’s argument was razor sharp and he knows the issue and the law. Dickstein’s arguments were so compelling that I almost stood up and cheered. It didn’t take long for the judges to see what a mistake it was to ask Dickstein anything. Dickstein was the only attorney in all the cases heard that day to be told “your time is up”.

On behalf of the government, a female U.S. Attorney gave an unconvincing argument that Bill Benson’s “Reliance Defense” package directed people to stop paying income taxes. It was at this time that the silent Judge Ripple came to life. He stated that the act of selling documents does not mean it is “commercial speech”, and that any person can read the material and decide for himself whether to act on it or not. Embarrassingly, the U.S. Attorney said that the material being sold [separately] was ok, but when packaged together, it was illegal. This argument is ludicrous, if not funny.

After referring to the Bell case [3rd Cir.], Judge Ripple told the U.S. Attorney that “the language in Bell is terribly broad.” Finally, Judges Bauer and Evans joined in on challenging the U.S. Attorney about the First Amendment implications. The U.S. Attorney also stated that the government “needs the list of names” of everyone Bill sold the Reliance Defense package to, because “those people are victims”. What a laugh. If the government gets those names, then they will surely be victims.

Bill was sitting front and center, and as the U.S. Attorney would make false statements [which was most of the time], Bill would adamantly shake his head “no” while groaning in disapproval.

Although the judges put on a good First Amendment show for the audience, we will not know how they will rule until the opinion is handed down [quietly and out of public view]. But one thing I do know, Bill Benson and Jeff Dickstein are Heros! I was very proud to stand beside them. For those of you not there, you missed one of the greatest oral arguments of our day. As one Patriot in attendance stated, “that was definitely worth the price of admission!”

Many of you know that attorney Phil Berg is filling his appeal in the Superior Court. His case Berg v Obama and DNC stated that according to the statements made by Sarah Obama, the paternal grandmother and other relatives of presidential candidate Barack Obama, he was born in Mombasa, Kenya and not in Hawaii, as he states, which means that he is not a natural born US citizen and therefore ineligible to be the president of the US. Additionally at the age of six, he moved with his mother to Indonesia and his school registration there shows him as an Indonesian citizen. Since Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship at the time, it means that Ann Dunham, Barack Obama’s mother had to relinquish his US citizenship in order to obtain Indonesian citizenship for him.

Federal judge Surrick has noted lack of standing in his decision, which necessitated the appeal to the Supreme Court. According to Judge Surrick, the proper plaintiff will be the congress and not a voter. Considering the fact that the congress is predominantly democratic and is craving to see the Democrat in the white house; the ordinary voters of this country have a better chance of being struck by the lightening, then expecting justice to be upheld and Congress voting to check eligibility of Barack Obama.

This situation has stirred some serious outrage among a large number of voters that decided to seek justice in the State courts, filing legal actions against Secretaries of States, demanding that those Secretaries of States check Obama’s eligibility and check his original birth certificate, that contains the name of the hospital and the name of the doctor and other documents.( the registry of life birth on Obama’s website was issued in 2007 and doesn’t contain much of the information that can be found on the original Birth Certificate from the hospital). 7 legal actions were filed in different states and plaintiffs found out that majority of States are not checking any documents, but rather have the candidates sign a form, where they certify that they are eligible and able to perform the duties of the president.

Hypothetically speaking Osama Bin Laden can sign one of these forms and run for President of the US, nobody would check his birth certificate or any other forms.

A new law passed by the U.S. Congress and sent to the President will subject certain individuals who expatriate or give up their green cards to immediate tax on the inherent gain on all of their worldwide assets and a tax on future gifts or bequests made to a U.S. citizen or resident.

Tax practitioners had been made to feel like the boy who cried wolf in recent months as the U.S. Congress repeatedly threatened to enact legislation aimed at U.S. citizens who expatriate. Congress finally made good on those threats by unanimously passing the Heroes Earning Assistance and Relief Tax (HEART) Act (the ‘Act'), which provides tax relief for active duty military personnel and reservists.

The new tax regime applies to certain individuals who relinquish their US citizenship[1] and certain long-term U.S. residents (i.e., green card holders) who terminate their U.S. residence (hereafter referred to as ‘expatriates').[2] The so-called ‘mark-to-market' tax will apply to the net unrealized gain on the expatriate's worldwide assets as if such property were sold (the ‘deemed sale') for its fair market value on the day before the expatriation date. A SKEPTICAL VIEW OF SECRETARY PAULSON'S PROPOSAL

Treasury Secretary Paulson has proposed that Congress advance $700 Billions to be directed to purchase mortgage backed assets intending to reactivate and prop up its frozen market.

There appears to me a fundamental problem with the sense of that proposal. Since the market is presently inactive – indeed "frozen" – and since the US firms active in trading mortgage backed assets are failing, the real possibility exist to simply take over and assume control of operations in exchange for infusion of equity for these firms which will make available the illiquid MBA's for control and disposition by Paulson under the plan now being created. The cost of that plan should be far inferior to the plan being proposed and will place a much lighter burden on the American Taxpayer and the National finances while achieving the same results.

Now this idea is hardly novel. A "take over" was engineered very recently for Bear-Stearns costing some $29 Billions. And the same "take over" was implemented respecting Fanny May and Freddy Mac at a published cost of $100 Billions each. The Treasury and the Federal Reserve retained a significant control over asset derived from Bear Stearns management. And at the same time, the Secretary and Federal Reserve retained a significant control over Fanny and Freddy. Why could not a similar operation be made for each of the US firms which are under stress from an illiquid MBA market.

The result will be a far greater degree of control and at a much lower total cost to the taxpayer and the US Treasury.

There is in this observation the implication that the real purpose of the $700 Billions is not the outright purchase of illiquid assets from US Firms under stress but rather the re-purchase of fraudulent assets purchased and now held by foreign banks who are demanding to be made whole after being defrauded in their purchase of American backed securities which turn out to be worthless having no collateral mortgage assets whatsoever to back up the investment made in good faith. If that is the case, and it appears likely, then in that event, the $700 Billions is merely a down payment for the problem which will buy enough time for George Bush to vacate the office of Presidency on 20 January 09 leaving the mess for the next president to clean up.

Supporting this macabre perception is the fact that the proposal submitted by Paulson and the Bush Administration calls for a complete autonomy in terms of expenditure without review by any source including the courts. This kind of sweeping authority was previously employed by the Bush Administration in the run up to invasion of Iraq which after 6 years of costly warfare and more than 4200 American deaths plus over 100,000 Iraqi civilian deaths, we now know was a fraud on the American People. Additionally, and without recitation here, the Bush Administration's habit in this regard is well known to be repeated in several other examples. Thus confidence in this matter should be replaced with a considerable skepticism as to motive and use of the funds and the hurry up conditions under which the proposal had been submitted. Further, the timing of Paulson's proposal coincides with the coming Congressional recess scheduled for this Friday. All of these circumstances carry the clear implication that the sweeping proposal, the timing of its submission and the hurry up attitude carried with the proposal leads one to conclude a contrivance and a ruse to obtain extraordinary amount of Public Funds under conditions which are untoward and outrightly dangerous to the Nation.

Alternatively, could it be that the worlds Central Banks and/or nations have formed a coalition which have collectively delivered an ultimatum to Paulson and Bush to be made whole on the fraud which has been heaped upon them by Wall Street while the administration turned a blind eye to regulatory oversight of the financial and securities markets. Extreme skepticism therefore is in order.

Preparations are being made in case the US investment bank Lehman Brothers has to file for bankruptcy protection.

The firm was pushed to the brink on Sunday after UK bank Barclays pulled out of talks to buy most of Lehman.

If no new financing is found before Wall Street opens on Monday, Lehman will have to seek so-called Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

In the UK, accountancy firm PWC has been lined up to run the British operations of Lehman.

BBC business editor Robert Peston says Barclays' decision to walk away from a Lehman deal was a huge setback for the effort to rescue the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States.

A source close to the talks told the BBC that Barclays was unlikely to change its mind.

Barclays terminated the negotiations because it was unable to obtain guarantees in relation to financial commitments faced by Lehman when markets open on Monday.

Bad bank, good bank

The rescue effort for Lehman is being coordinated by the US Treasury and the New York Federal Reserve.

The US government had hoped to arrange a bailout under which other US investments banks - such as Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs - would finance a "bad bank" that would hold the most "toxic" investments of Lehman in the property and mortgage market.

The "good bank" or rest of the firm, including its investment and wealth management arms, would then be sold to another financial institution, for example Bank of America or the UK's Barclays.

Although such a deal would have cost the other investment banks millions, it might have restored confidence in the sector and avoided a sharp drop in the share price of all banks.

However, it appears that this plan is falling apart.

"The only thing that can prevent Lehman collapsing would be a huge injection of taxpayers' money," a banker close to the talks told the BBC.

"In the light of the credit crunch and the parlous state of financial markets, Barclays feels it would be running a crazy risk if it took on [Lehman's obligations] without any protection right now," says our business editor.

Bank of America, meanwhile, is said to be unconvinced that buying Lehman would be in the interest of its shareholders.

'Too difficult to value'

"No other large firm should buy Lehman whole - its toxic real estate and securities are too difficult to value," said Professor Peter Morici of the business school of the University of Maryland.

"Only a fool would think he could fairly assess their value, unless those are assigned them a value of zero," he added.

Lehman is up for sale after it reported a $3.9bn (£2.2bn) quarterly loss last week amid concerns over its long term financial viability.

The firm's share price has plummeted as fears over its future have mounted.

Uncertainty

Unless a bailout deal can be arranged and another large bank steps up to buy the good bits of Lehman, the US firm will have to file for bankruptcy protection.

Income Tax researchers, Ed and Elaine Brown are now going into their second year of unlawful
imprisonment for violating non-existent U.S. income tax laws.

The two 60+ year-old senior citizens are being shuffled from one prison to another throughout the United States as punishment for standing against the illegal, unconstitutional income tax system, and the Internal Revenue Service. According to Ed Brown, his wife, Elaine is currently under 24-hour lockdown
in a Caldwell-Fort Worth Texas prison. “They are using total isolation on her for three weeks, now,” said Brown. “They abuse this fine, gentle lady
because she followed the law and demanded an answer. Where are my fellow Americans? She is being treated worse than most of the murderers, pedophiles and real criminals.”

Mrs. Brown had previously enjoyed email communication with the Fort Fairfield Journal, while in prison in Connecticut, but the FFJ was notified that
account had recently been closed. Brown believes the criminals in government act under the influence of the Jesuits. “After twenty years of research and of current record, the Knights of Malta/Jesuits are involved in every part of our country’s structure.” As a United States Constitution Ranger, Mr. Brown feels obligated to protect the United States of American Republic and the people thereof, under God. “ When this criminal element in government attacks my wife and me for demanding an answer to a righteous question (on the income tax), they have committed malfeasance and drug us physically into malicious prosecution. They have committed sedition and treason against the United States.”

The Browns are, like so many other income tax protestors, currently political prisoners in a country that—like the former Soviet Union—will not tolerate
citizens demanding accountability from a corrupt, rogue government that is now entrenched in the United States.

Tyrants are not directly responsible for what goes in under their rule. Certainly they're to blame for setting the terror in motion, but it takes thousands or millions of underlings to really turn a regular country into a terror state. Adolf Hitler did not personally gas and starve millions in the early 1940s, nor did Stalin or Mao personally shoot, starve, and otherwise eradicate tens of millions of people whose interests they were allegedly representing.

Watching videos of police brutality and reading stories of dozens more every week is seriously depressing. U.S. presidents have encouraged the mindset that makes this possible, but the individual police officers who brutalize and kill people are just as much a part of the problem. Lately the blogosphere has been highlighting police brutality at the RNC protests, another fine example of how a great many individual decisions by state henchmen ruin a country. I am sure George Bush, Dick Cheney, Nancy Pelosi, and all the others of the state apparatus--as well as their "private" friends in other state-allied positions--are perfectly fine with what's happening; if they were in the riot gear, they'd be the ones pulling the triggers, tightening the cuffs, and swinging the truncheons. But they're not, and they leave these decisions up to a willing multitude of police departments.

That murderer is not Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, or any of the other names you might have heard. That's a young man. As far as I know, he disappears from history after this photograph. Hitler is only indirectly responsible for the kneeling man's murder. That young man is the actual murderer.

We ought to be blaming Bush for the crimes that happen on his watch, just like we should have blamed Clinton, Nixon, and the others before them. But to let the actual agents of terror off the hook is a serious moral error.

It's a tragically flawed example, but it might help to remember that the Irish Revolution was successful largely because the population grew more and more sympathetic to the revolutionaries' aims. But as far as actual strategies, the boycott of the Royal Irish Constabulary was critical. The English-allied police eventually found themselves unable even to buy groceries from ordinary citizens. Enlistment in the RIC plunged to zero in just a few years.

This requires a radical reconsideration of the role of the police to work, I know, and here in the U.S. the police aren't seen as collaborationists with a hostile foreign occupation. But if we remember the Last Jew of Vinnitsa and his killer when we watch the news, the constant stream of police brutality, abuse, and consequence-free killing, we'll be halfway there.

Palin: Iraq war 'a task that is from God'

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Ass. of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.

Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.

"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."

Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.

Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.

"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."

The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."

Coercion is defined as, "to restrain or constrain by force..." Legally it often implies the use of PHYSICAL FORCE or physical or legal threat. This traditional concept of coercion is far better understood than the technological concepts of "coercive persuasion" which are effective restraining, impairing, or compelling through the gradual application of PSYCHOLOGICAL FORCES.

A coercive persuasion program - within Christianity it is called "The Gospel Persuasion" - is a behavioral change technology applied to cause the "learning" and "adoption" of a set of behaviors or an ideology under certain conditions.

It is distinguished from other forms of benign social learning or peaceful persuasion by the conditions under which it is conducted and by the techniques of environmental and interpersonal manipulation employed to suppress particular behaviors and to train others. Over time, coercive persuasion, a psychological force akin in some ways to our legal concepts of undue influence, is MORE effective than pain, torture, drugs, and use of physical force and legal threats.

The Korean War "Manchurian Candidate" misconception of the need for suggestibility-increasing drugs, and physical pain and torture, to effect thought reform, is generally associated with the old concepts and models of brainwashing. Today, they are not necessary for a coercive persuasion program to be effective. With drugs, physical pain, torture, or even a physically coercive threat, you can often temporarily make someone do something against their will. You can even make them do something they hate or they really did not like or want to do at the time. They do it, but their attitude is not changed. In Christianity this is called a "false conversion".

This is much different and far less devastating than that which you are able to achieve with coercive persuasion. With coercive persuasion you can change a person's will without their knowledge and volition. You can create new "attitudes" where they will do things willingly which they formerly may have detested, things which previously only torture, physical pain, or drugs could have coerced them to do. In effect, their desires change, their viewpoints change, and their feelings change through this Gospel persuasion. Most people have no idea of the depth of change that this type of persuasion can bring into a person, even changing them in "an instant". This seems impossible and that is a part of its strength and deceitfulness.

There you have it, folks. In a nutshell, the quotes above tell us our place in the system: do as you are told, or we will kill you. The rest is all detail. One nuance of history might be highighted for the reader. The men who possess these powers of life and death have rather consistently exhibited patterns of psychopathic behavior in the form of mass murder and torture. In addition to Bush, Hitler and Lenin quoted above, you might consider, among recent others, Mussolini, Stalin, Truman, Mao, Suharto. The list continues ad nauseam throughout history. Hierarchical power structures appear to be an evolutionary dead end for humanity.

My Experiential Observations of Power (abridged)

I've served my country in foreign war zones and returned to face the derision of protestors whom I was supposedly "protecting." I rotated myself from resentment to an understanding thatthey were correct. My friend who had chained himself to other war protestors while they burned their draft cards was a braver man than I.

For them it had worked. Neither conscripted nor prosecuted, they were too hot to handle. I have arrived at a deep respect for the moral competence and physical courage of my young friend. Nonviolence is not for cowards.

I saw "over there" some of the same big construction contractors who, after merger and consolidation, are now gorging on Iraq war profits. I recall a naval leadership journal which carried photos of a French tank mired in a rice paddy circa 1948, alongside a photo of an American tank mired in a rice paddy circa 1968. Paired images of a killing field, stalked hyena-like by cold-blooded central bankers and their political consorts. The dead are but abstractions reported to a balance sheet as corporate dividends. Political payoffs are footnoted as "other expenses."

Today we are viewing the updated remix as "Shock and Awe" murder-of-every-living-thing-from-a-safe-distance. It would pound the earth itself into submissive dust on the Emperor's shoes. An imperialist gone mad in its greed for oil, for corporate dividends, for unlimited power, its mass murder spares not woman nor child nor cow. The revolving door of power brokers rotating between government-defense contracting-banking leads to the same bloody dead end, generation after generation.

Of Power, this much I know from experience both over and under:

It aggrandizes itself, feeding upon everything in its path
It comes as corporate CEO and abusive husband, as admiral and chairman, as dictator and patriarch
Greed is its energy and cowards it crushes, although itself cowardly
Courage it cannot withstand, especially moral
It corrupts absolutely kindness into cruelty
It knows no limit of acquisitiveness
It attracts the corruptible and the corrupt
It is pure evil in the hands of no matter whom
It usually wears a mask
In the five generations with which I have had direct contact it has brought misery, murder, rape and pillage
And the nuclear bomb

The battle is for the mind of man. The prize is no longer in vanquishing some "other." The battle is either all against all or all for all. There is no "other" to conquer. We are all in it together. We either grow a garden together or we cannibalize each other in the course of turning the earth into a desert. We can either plant trees together, or race to be the last person standing to cut down the last tree.

ORGANIZATIONAL DYNAMICS OF THE STATE

The State as an organization keeps on running with periodic changes of management called elections. Because of its ability to make laws and impose taxes, its power is limited only by the tolerance of the people for their exploitation. The State can coerce its members without reciprocal consequences. It operates without fear of reprisal. It can use aggressive force to make others do things against their will. Its "managers" are protected by sovereign immunity. Because it both rules and taxes, it suffers no agency costs for its errors: it simply shifts the cost to taxpayers.

"To force a man to pay for the violation of his own liberty is indeed adding insult to injury. But that is exactly what the State does. Read the Congressional Record; follow the proceedings of the State legislatures; examine our statute books. Testing each Act separately by the law of equal liberty, you will find that a good nine tenths of existing legislation serves not to that fundamental social law, but either to prescribe the individual's personal habits, or worse, to create and sustain commercial, industrial, financial and proprietary monopolies which deprive labor of a large part of the reward that it would receive in a true free market." ~ Benjamin Tucker, 1890

The US is not a contractual State in the sense of an organization owned by its principals, the citizens. It has become a predatory State in the sense of a corporation owned and operated by a small group. This evolution was made inevitable by the weaknesses of the Constitution and actions of the power brokers and legislature. Rozeff (3 August 2006) estimates that the top management group of USA comprises between 15 and 60 members. These members rotate in revolving door fashion between and among various centers of social and political power. The figureheads and mouthpieces – the Kennedys, Nixons, Clintons, Bushes – are all fungible, each can be replaced by another without perturbing the system. In this manner do elections always come to a choice between two morally indistinguishable candidates. Likewise, no matter who you vote for, the political establishment always gets elected.

A few dozen people control the vast bureaucracies. The State's power depends upon holding the loyalty and obedience of these career employees within the power structure. This is done by passing out special privileges and emoluments. Napoleon noted the amazing lust of men for awards and decorations. The final tool in the arsenal of control is to heap honors upon those who have been corrupted.

M.S. Rozeff (see Lew Rockwell website) argues that the State lowers the cost of immorality, and people subsequently demand more State. Those who do occasionally resist face an "immortal" foe that owns the law-making power. People will rationalize their greater demand for immorality with new ideas of right and wrong. Giving up liberty in exchange, they will come to worship authority, equality, the use of force, and power. They will move away from self-reliance, responsibility, obligation to elders and the disadvantaged of society. They will accept, even enjoy their new situation. The State corrupts social morals and human beings.

Government Puts Kibosh On Hunger Fast

Thus far, Texas Rep. Ron Paul has “responded” to the Petitions for Redress by having them “forwarded to the Clerk of the House.”

While such a move is unique among the Members of the House, and is not a bad first step in etching the concept of Government accountability into the minds of some of the Members and advancing ever so slightly the question of the constitutional meaning of the last ten words of the First Amendment, it is highly unlikely that the Petitions for Redress will advance to House Committees for consideration, much less a vote to provide Redress. With the possible exception of Ron Paul, we know of no other politician willing to consider the notion of being held accountable to the People outside the periodic electoral process.

Whether or not the Petitions for Redress served on Ron Paul advance beyond the Office of the Speaker of the House, a constituent’s Right to Redress (like that of Religion, Speech, Press and Assembly) is an individual Right that does not depend on the will of any person or majority, not in the House, not in the Senate, not on any Court bench, and not among those voting in any election.

Forwarding the Petitions for Redress to the Clerk of the House has not relieved Rep. Ron Paul of his individual obligation to respond by answering the questions embedded in each of the seven Petitions for Redress. Even if his answer is, “I lack knowledge enough to admit or deny,” he has a legal (constitutional) obligation to respond.

We pray Rep. Paul will personally respond to the Petitions for Redress.

My sentiments exactly. I have taken a lot of flak over the years for saying the same thing, "There is No Such Thing as a Good Cop!" If they were "good" they wouldn't be infringing upon my rights in the name of some nebulous (because they are enforced differently) made up rules by appointed biased majoritarians.
So Mr. & Mrs. American Sheeple, at what point is one a "good" majoritarian (and those who have been bribed by special interests) policy enforcement officer? When he only lightly infringes upon your rights? What part of "infringement" are you not clear about? PoLice will only respect your rights when they KNOW that they are JUST AS vulnerable to the application of force as YOU ARE!

No Such Thing as a Good Cop

When people act on their OWN judgment, like grown-ups, they are stuck with the responsibility and consequences of their actions. A favorite excuse of people who do stupid and/or evil things is "I was just following orders." This amounts to claiming that they were NOT acting as thinking, judging, responsible beings with free will, but were acting as unthinking tools of someone else. Put another way, the "obeying authority" excuse amounts to saying: "You can't blame me! I'm just a stupid, programmable machine, not a thinking human!" Swell.

People who believe in self-ownership (e.g., anarchists) don't ever get to use that excuse. You see, we believe that we are endowed with thought and free will, and that we are therefore obligated to judge right and wrong for ourselves, and obligated to act accordingly. What we do, WE DO. We don't try to dodge responsibility by pretending that we were possessed by someone or something else.

If the whole world were like that, even if there remained many differences of opinion, as well as stupidity, carelessness, and/or malice, the vast majority of evil would stop. Why? Because most evil is NOT committed by people acting on their own judgment, but by people "doing what they were told."

One of the most serious decisions a thinking person can make is, "Should I use violence?" Most people who are acting on their own will resort to violence only in rare and extreme cases. Those who act as unthinking tools of "authority," on the other hand, use force and violence CONSTANTLY, without hesitation, without any qualms or doubts, and without any guilt or remorse.

My suggestion for ANYONE who uses force is this: use your judgment, and when you decide to use force, accept the responsibility yourself, and face the consequences yourself. Don't hide behind "he told me to" and other spineless excuses. In other words, grow up and act like an adult.

But people in "government" don't do that. Consider, for example, the fact that a couple MILLION people are in cages right now for possessing "narcotics"--a term which means "mind-altering substances that politicians didn't give their permission to use." Do you think any of the politicians, cops, judges, prison guards, paper-pushers, or anyone else in the "justice" system would ever take PERSONAL responsibility for kidnapping someone and putting them in a cage for smoking a joint? No. They ALL blame "the law," as if it's some magical force that possesses their minds, relieving them of all responsibility for their actions.

If not for "law"-worship, how many beer-drinkers would feel okay about locking someone up for possessing pot? Approximately zero. Incidentally, though I don't drink alcohol myself (or use any narcotics), I accept that those who do, whether to relax a bit or to get sloshed, have the right to do so. But every cop, judge, politician, or paper-pusher who condones the "war on drugs," and then goes home to chug a few beers or sip some wine--which is almost every one of them--is a hypocritical, evil coward. All together they form a machine that unjustifiably locks up MILLIONS of people, and yet NO ONE in the system accepts responsibility for doing it. THAT is why the "authority" myth is so horribly dangerous: its acts of violence and evil are very real, but NO ONE believes he is accountable for any of it.

Bad Cop, Worse Cop

These days, many news sites have a place after each story where the 
rabble can throw in their own comments. And every time there's a 
story about police abuse, a debate arises about how many cops are 
bad apples, and how many are good guys. You'll see everything from 
"They're all fascist pigs!" to "The vast majority of cops are 
honest and do things by the book." Who is right? What ARE the 
percentages of good versus bad? Good question. Another good 
question is, Does the system even WANT the cops to be honest and by- 
the-book? Consider the following story: Fascist pig beats up lady, 
falsely accuses her of a crime, but eventually is exposed as a 
lying, sadistic thug. Here are the details:

Note in the story how this was NOT the first indication that the 
guy is a power-happy fascist. So, does the system try to keep such 
people out, or does it just try to keep them from getting CAUGHT 
being fascist pigs? I would suggest the latter. 
 
(Keep in mind, in the settlement for that case, "government" paid 
NOTHING. "Government" has nothing to give. It stole money from 
OTHER people, and gave it to the victim of the fascist thuggery. 
I'm not saying she didn't deserve it; I'm saying the ones who PAID 
it--you and me--weren't the ones who did her harm. I would have 
loved to see the fascist himself be forced to sell everything he 
has and give her the proceeds--and then get flung in a cage.) 
 
In story after story, cops commit lawless thuggery, LIE about it, 
and then find out that it was caught on tape. Then they "cooperate"- 
- -once they know they're sunk--and get credit for doing so. The 
system defends and protects its thugs, until their evil is too 
obvious for the public to miss. Then, and only then, will the 
system hang an individual thug or two out to dry, as if they are 
the only problem. 
 
The potential harm that can be caused by "authority" dwarfs what 
the average crook can do. Imagine if that lady had been put in a 
cage for 15 YEARS, based on the fascist's bald-faced lie. (I only 
did a year based on fascist lies myself.) And since, as recent 
stories have shown, cops seem perfectly willing to lie to protect 
their fellow gang members, it often makes resisting police abuse 
rather hazardous. 
 
So do cops and their bosses actually object to police brutality and 
abuse? As far as I can tell, they object to being CAUGHT, and 
that's about it. They consistently lie, insult, threaten, and 
assault, until they're caught on tape. Then, and ONLY then, do they 
show "remorse," which shows only that they're sorry they got 
CAUGHT. While the public gets upset when they see example of the 
"bad apples" on the police force, I see little or no evidence that 
those who run the system mind it at all... except when they get 
caught. Yeah, they publicly act surprised and offended at the 
"abuse," but only after all hope of cover-up, excuses and lies is 
gone. 
 
What would we see if even 50% of cops actually gave a damn about 
individual liberty, constitutional rights, truth and justice? We'd 
see cops getting fired every other day. When FIVE Tennessee "law 
enforcers" (power-happy thugs) get caught TORTURING a guy to get 
his "consent" to search his home, that means that there are a lot 
more "bad apples" than government would have us believe. If there 
was a "good cop" on the scene, what would he have done? Well, if he 
was ACTUALLY good, he would at the very least have exposed the 
abuse after the fact, and if he had a spine, he would have done 
whatever it took to STOP the other cops from being sadistic thugs. 
 
So how many cops would do that? Why have I NEVER heard of that 
happening? Like those in the military, partly because of training 
and partly because of circumstance, "government" enforcers always 
evolve into a gang which cares far more about defending the gang 
than it does about doing the right thing. (The mass murder down in 
Waco is a particularly heinous example of this.) 
 
Of the recent wave of examples of police abuse that have come out, 
how many were exposed by fellow cops? I know of none. Is it because 
they never NOTICE their fellow officers abusing people? Of course 
not. Is there any cop anywhere who has never at least once seen 
other cops illegally abusing people? I doubt it. So where are the 
"good cops" exposing that kind of thing--I mean BEFORE someone else 
catches them? Can you think of a single case of that? I can't. Why 
not? They've ALL seen the abuse, and NONE of them expose it. Why is 
that? 
 
It's because if, as a cop, you don't at least look the other way, 
if not participate yourself in the thuggery, your chances of 
remaining a cop are slim to none. No street gang would allow its 
members to say bad things about it, and neither would the street 
gang which calls itself "the police." The fact that there ARE 
"Internal Affairs" units at all, which are usually resented by all 
the other cops, makes it pretty obvious that most cops are NOT 
going to "tell" on each other, no matter what they do. They have 
sworn to "protect and serve" their gang, and that's exactly what 
they do. If there are only a few "bad apples," and if most cops are 
honest and good--if ANY cops are honest and good, in fact--why 
aren't THEY the ones exposing police misconduct? They have a front 
row seat to all of it, yet their lips remain sealed.

If you visit this and other anti-status-quo establishment sites, have participated in any demonstration, have sent a protest letter, have written, been in a video or stood up publicly expressing support for freedom or the Constitution, you and your family members have been moved from the FBI's "blue list" to the Homeland Security's "red list."

In addition, DNA samples have already been covertly obtained from you and each of your family members and added to the National DNA Database (NDD).
They have your fingerprints, a strand of your hair and blood samples.
Your house, car and place of business have been bugged.
Satellite surveillance constantly track your every move through the use of multiple implants inserted without your consent or knowledge.

Please understand that there is no need to stop your resistance activities at this point, it is too late. You have already been entered. However, you are always free to do so and it might help knock off a decade of internment.

On the other-hand, since you really have nothing left to lose but more freedom it might be wise to step up your resistance activities. The above can only occur if the present trend and the structure of the existing government continue unstopped. The authoritarian, fascist, mercantile domination of the American government is a systemic problem and CANNOT be solved from within or using the existing form of government. The system must be overhauled completely with new safe guards installed immutably to guarantee personal liberties.
